Solar Panel Kits
Using the energy of the sun has not only gained worldwide popularity, it is repeatedly proven to be among the easiest forms of renewable energy available to home owners. Whether you are trying to live completely off the grid, or just trying to do your part for the environment (with the benefit of lowered power bills), solar electricity can have a large impact.
A few reasons to consider solar power for home use:
- sunlight is free and abundant
- environmentally friendly (no harmful greenhouse gases are produced through the use of solar generated electricity)
- low (in some cases none) power bills
- in many states there are tax credits available to those who use alternative forms of energy in there households
- solar panels are fairly easy to construct yourself
The internet is a giant resource for instructional materials, pre made solar power kits, and just about every piece of information known regarding solar electricity. There are many things to consider when researching, including price, practicality, energy needs, home location, etc. In general, pre-made kits tend to be more expensive (from what I’ve seen, the minimum price is $1000). There are also many options for building your own solar panels, mostly with parts available from your local hardware store. Many of the available instructions cite that panels can be built at home for under $200! This sounds like quite a deal considering how much you will save in monthly energy bills. However, like all things on the internet, many products are higher quality than others. For those of you interested in building your own solar panels (which I recommend over buying overly expensive pre made kits), you should stop by my product review page to learn more about what type of instructional material is available to you.
